This Sunday, June 19, 2022 will remain engraved in the memory of Sacha Fenestraz. After finishing on the podium at Fuji at the start of the season, the Franco-Argentinian finally tasted victory in Super Formula. The Kondo Racing driver has indeed taken the best on the poleman and reigning champion Tomoki Nojiri (Team Mugen).

This 5e Race of the season started perfectly for Sacha Fenestraz who immediately took over Tomoki Nojiri at the start. It all came down to strategy. Passed through the pit lane at 10e of the 53 laps on the program after the 2e intervention of the safety car, the Kondo Racing driver came out 8e behind a train of drivers who had preferred to stay on the track.

Provisionally in the lead at this point in the race, Sacha Fenestraz showed great control during the 2e part of the test. Once again in control after the last refueling stops, the Franco-Argentinian did not tremble as his first victory in Super Formula loomed on the horizon.

In the end, Sacha Fenestraz crossed the finish line alone and with more than 5 seconds ahead of Toshiki Oyu (Nakajima Racing) and pole sitter and championship leader Tomoki Nojiri. Giuliano Alesi (Team TOM'S) ranked 13e more than 22 seconds behind the winner.
