All he had to do was show up at Le Castellet this weekend to secure the title of French F4 champion. So obviously, Ayumu Iwasa was not missing. The Japanese driver, dominated by Isack Hadjar last weekend, celebrated his title with a double pole position, obtained on Friday on the short track of Paul-Ricard.
But the Japanese, despite his leading position in race 1, lost (2nd) to Isack Hadjar on Saturday morning, before finishing 6th in Race 2 on a reverse grid on Saturday afternoon.
Author of eight victories and fourteen podiums this season, the Honda protégé dominated the season after spending a year in Japanese F4 (2017) and winning a championship title in SRS Formula. He succeeds Frenchman Hadrien David on the list.
