Baguette is not satisfied

Bertrand Baguette, titled last month in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, however, does not want to demobilize before the end of the season. If the driver has stood out thanks to the supreme reward in the discipline, any victory is worth taking, as is any opportunity to stand out in the eyes of team bosses. The Belgian having the ambition to find a place in Formula 1, each victory brings him more credibility.

However, it was the Briton who took the lead in this first race. Perfectly launched, Jaime Alguersuari's teammate leads the race ahead of Daniil Move. Meanwhile, Bertrand Baguette treats himself to Jon Lancaster and struggles for a long time with Federico Leo before finally going to find the opening. In the process, the Italian passed by Jon Lancaster and Jaime Alguersuari.

Bertrand Baguette, back on the two leading men, does not need several laps to dislodge Daniil Move from second place. But, not far from there, another pilot comes into view. Esteban Guerrieri, starting from 15th place, moved up the peloton, overtook Jaime Alguersuari and moved into fifth place.

Bertrand Baguette, on the 15th lap, managed to surprise Oliver Turvey under braking in order to score his fourth victory of the season and celebrate a title acquired last month. “ Being already titled, my main goal this weekend is to have fun, declares the Belgian pilot. This is what I did today. We also want the Teams title, and this victory brings us closer to it. My car was really efficient today. I want to win again tomorrow, it's the best way to secure the Teams title! »

Third, Jon Lancaster finished the race with a slim lead over Daniil Move. Next are Esteban Guerrieri, Fairuz Fauzy, Federico Leo and Jaime Alguersuari. On Sunday, the second race of the weekend will define the definitive podium for this Formula Renault 3.5 Series season, as well as award the Teams title.

In Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Antonio Felix Da Costa maintains the suspense by winning ahead of Albert Costa and Jean-Eric Vergne during the first race at Motorland Aragon. Before the last race of the season, all three men are still in the running for the title. Sunday's race therefore promises to be lively, with the three drivers starting in the first three places.

For his part, Mike Verschuur secured his Eurocup Megane Trophy crown. The Dutchman, winner of the first race of the weekend ahead of the French Fabrice Walfisch and Dimitri Enjalbert, secured the 2009 title in the discipline.
