The wait is over and Dino Beganovic can breathe easy since he is the champion this 2022 FRECA season! With a lead of 38 points over his runner-up Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix) before this Race 1, the Prema driver only needed a Top 4 to be crowned, regardless of his rival's result.

Third in qualifying while Gabriele Mini did better than 12e, Dino Beganovic did not tremble on the track. Threatening Victor Bernier (FA Racing) as soon as the lights went out, the Swede was smart by not tempting the devil at the risk of having to wait until Sunday to celebrate. Protected from a possible attack from Joshua Dufek (VAR), the championship leader was content to hold on until the finish. Long 3e, he was finally surprised by the Swiss during the restart of the race two minutes from the end, settling for 4e position. Enough to still win the champion title while Gabriele Mini retired after contact with Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) less than 10 minutes from time.

Victory for Aron, first podium for Bernier

As for the athlete, Paul Aron signed his 6e victory of the season a few hours after its 7e pole position in 2022. With a very good reaction at the start, Dino Beganovic's teammate produced a very clean copy, even taking the checkerboard with almost 4 seconds ahead of Victor Bernier who was invited onto the podium for the first time of the year.

In good shape since the Barcelona round last weekend, the Habs obtained their best results of the campaign this Saturday. After his 2e position in qualifying behind Paul Aron, Victor Bernier resisted the pressure put by Dino Beganovic thus reaching the finish in the same position. Also note the great performance of Macéo Capietto (Monolite Racing). Sixth on the grid, the Frenchman maintained his position for a long time in Race 1 before crossing the line in 7e place also signing its best result in 2022.

In the championship, this 6e victory of the year and the retirement of Gabriele Mini allow Paul Aron to recover the place of runner-up from Dino Beganovic.
