Bourdais: “It’s racing, it happens”

Sébastien Bourdais (Olympique Lyonnais), who won the second race at Silverstone at the start of the season, was not able to express himself as he wanted at Magny-Cours. Le Manceau, during the first race, finished in ninth place, not having been able to take advantage of the start to grab a few places, before being delayed during his refueling.

Worse, in the second race, the Frenchman made a mistake when braking at the Adelaide hairpin (see video), taking with him two other French pilots, Franck Perera (Flamengo) and Franck Montagny (Girondins de Bordeaux). A difficult weekend for the Olympique Lyonnais driver.

Upon his return to the pitlane, Sébastien Bourdais expressed his regrets regarding his failed braking at the Adelaide hairpin. But given the lack of understanding from his compatriots, Le Manceau wanted to remind people that this type of collision is part of motorsport. “ Obviously, I apologize, but it's a race, explains Sébastien. Whether I take French people on board or not is not the question; It’s a pilot’s affair. I lost the car when braking, I tried to save the day, but I hit the others without being able to avoid them. I'm sorry, but it happens »

All that remains is to hope that during the next Superleague Formula round, in Jarama, Spain, the Olympique Lyonnais driver's weekend will be more prolific. This meeting will take place one week after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race in which Franck Montagny and Sébastien Bourdais will participate with Peugeot Sport.
