Charlie Wurz signs with ART Grand Prix in FRECA

Following the extension of Laurens van Hoepen within ART Grand Prix, the team announces new driver in its ranks for the 2023 FRECA championship: the Austrian Charlie Wurz. After beginnings in car in 2021, the driver signs with Prema and participates in the Formula 4 championships in Germany, Italy and the United Arab Emirates... of which he is the champion. He is the author of three pole positions, two best laps, ten podiums including two victories. The 17-year-old Austrian also took 4th place in the Italian championship and 7th place overall in Germany.

An enthusiasm shared by Sébastien Philippe, team director: “ Charlie is entering his second full season in motorsport, but he already has plenty of experience having competed in several renowned championships. He notably has the experience of winning and managing a championship, being crowned in F4 and current leader of Formula Regional Oceania. He confirmed during the winter tests that he had all the qualities to be an important element at ART Grand Prix in its quest for the FRECA title. »

In 2023, Wurz also enters Formula Regional Oceania with M2 Competition, currently leader with 4 podiums, including 2 victories. The third name to complete the trio formed by the Austrian and his Dutch teammate is not yet known.
