End clap on the World Series Formula V8 3.5

She has seen great champions such as Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso or Robert Kubica, to name a few. In total, it will have allowed 25 pilots to access the Formula 1. His key? An unbeatable cost/track time/performance ratio which has been, from the start, the workhorse of RPM-MKTG.

Alas, the 2018 season will indeed be the last for the series promoted by Jaime Alguersuari's teams, called World Series by Nissan then Formula Renault 3.5 Series and finally Formula V8 3.5. Overshadowing the GP2 Series (which since this year has become F2), it was put to death by men of power and has seen, since the end of 2015 and the end of the incredible history of the World Series by Renault, its number of competitors drop drastically. “ The continuing and alarming drop in the number of pilots engaged in the main series of car forced the World Series Formula V8 3.5 to withdraw from the 2018 sporting calendar » we can read in the press release.

Rightly, the RPM-MKTG company says it is proud to have promoted the most successful single-seater series of the last 20 years, with the slogan “The power of dreams”. “ Since 1998, we have shared our dreams with hundreds of friends, team owners, engineers, mechanics, drivers and above all, racing families. Their limitless sacrifices have enabled all these young talents to have careers. The initial idea of RPM was to help parents and families launch careers by offering them the best single-seaters at a lower cost. »

It goes without saying that RPM-MKTG will carefully follow the evolution of the European single-seater series and that a return, in the long term, cannot be ruled out. It remains to be seen who will wear the last crown tomorrow. The Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi leads the general classification with 223 points and is ten lengths ahead of the Russian Matevos Isaakyan and five more than the Mexican Alfonso Celis Jr.
