Corinthians off to the best start

Qualifying initially took place with two groups of nine cars. The four fastest cars from groups A and B found themselves in the quarter-finals, the last four in the semi-finals, then the two fastest in the final. During each round, these are real ??matches?? which pit the drivers against each other, who must win against their rival to advance to the next round.

In the group stage, eight teams initially stood out. Liverpool (Adrian Valles) confirmed its performance in free practice, ahead of Tottenham, Anderlecht and Flamengo, the three cars being less than a second behind that of the English club. Behind, we find Atletico Madrid, SC Portugal, Al Aïn, Olympique Lyonnais and AS Roma. Nelson Panciatici was therefore only able to obtain an eighth place in group A.

In group B, the times were much more contested. This is how Olympiakos and FC Bale failed to reach less than a tenth of fourth qualifying place. Corinthians had the best time, ahead of FC Porto, Glasgow Rangers and FC Midtjylland.

Then the original format of the quarter-final clashes made its selection. This is how John Martin, driver of Glasgow Rangers, was eliminated at this stage, even though he had the second best time of the eight cars. Unfortunately for him, Craig Dolby (Tottenham) was faster against him.

In the semi-final, Dolby failed to repeat the performance, failing against Antonio Pizzonia (Corinthians). In the other ??match??, the duel turned to the advantage of Adrian Valles (Liverpool), faster than Yelmer Buurman (Anderlecht). It is therefore the two drivers who were the fastest in their respective groups who advance to the final. During this one, Pizzonia was the fastest by three tenths against Valles. Pole is therefore for the Corinthians. The first race will take place on Sunday, at 11 a.m., on the Magny-Cours circuit.
