Costa finishes with a bang

Albert Costa continues to impress. The young Spaniard, two weeks after winning the Eurocup Formula title Renault 2.0, won the same award in Formula Renault 2.0 West European Cup. At Motorland Aragon, Albert Costa monopolized the podium (3rd and 2nd) to validate his Eurocup title. But, this weekend, in Portimao, the Epsilon Euskadi driver was not content with that, going for victory twice.

Not undeserving, Jean-Eric Vergne finished the Portimao races in 6th and 3rd place. But, as in Motorland, the Frenchman Red Bull Junior Team had to give up the title, failing against Albert Costa. The Spaniard validated his title on Saturday, by winning the first race at Portimao.

« It's fantastic, had released Costa after having assured himself of winning the title. But it?s not time to celebrate yet, I want to win again tomorrow, to finish in style. » On Sunday, the Epsilon Euskadi driver fulfilled his contract and finished in style. In 2010, his entry into the Formula Renault 3.5 Series will allow him to seek victory at the higher level. First driver to do the Eurocup double-WEC in Formula Renault 2.0, Albert Costa is expected next season.
