In Valencia, it’s a little bit like 2022 that’s starting. The ten teams that will be on the grid next year in F3 are on war footing this Monday in Spain until Wednesday, in order to prepare as best as possible for the next exercise. This Monday, it was Jack Doohan and Van Amersfoort Racing – the team which has just joined the category – who shone by dominating the two sessions of the first day. The Aussie was closely followed each time by Victor Martins, who rides with ART Grand Prix after a first season with MP Motorsport.

First contested on a wet track, the morning session saw the Australian establish the reference mark once the track dried, in 1'23"349, two tenths ahead of Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) and Kaylen Frederick (Hitech ). But the track was better during the afternoon and it was during this session that the 1'23" barrier fell.

Martins well placed

Jack Doohan (Van Amersfoort), the vice-champion of the category, who should evolve into F2 next year and who is probably driving to help Van Amersfoort find his bearings with the car, established the reference mark of the day ten minutes from the end in 1'22"402. Like in the morning, it was Victor Martins who ranked 2nd at 0. The podium was completed by Zane Maloney (Trident), who has just finished 131th in the Regional Formula by Alpine

The Barbadian beat his teammate Roman Stanek (Trident). Also note the good session of Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix). The Swiss rookie set the 5th time at 0. At Prema, the driver who finished the highest was Arthur Leclerc (+361 »0), ahead of Jak Crawford (+491 »0). After missing the morning session due to a transport problem, Isack Hadjar (Hitech Grand Prix), who was discovering the car, set the 565th fastest time (15'1"23), 296"0 behind his closest teammate. quick, Kaylen Frederick.
