Smolyar loses his victory in Sprint Race to Beckmann, Novalak 2nd

A few hours later the finish of the FIA Formula 3 Sprint Race at Silverstone (Great Britain) this Sunday August 2, the Race Direction decided to strip Alexander Smolyar (ART Grand Prix) of his victory.

The Russian was penalized for changing lines several times in a straight line. His track engineer warned him numerous times on the radio, but the 19-year-old driver continued to zigzag to keep his first place.

Therefore, the SMP Racing protégé drops to 6th place. The victory went to David Beckmann (Trident), already winner on the green carpet in Hungary in July. He is the only driver on the grid to have scored points in every race this summer of 2020!

The Franco-British Clément Novalak (Carlin) climbs to 2nd place ; this is his best performance in the FIA F3. The podium is completed by Alexander Peroni (Campos).
