Prema hat-trick in Monza, Peroni victim of an impressive accident

Robert Shwartzman (Prema) performs excellently in the FIA championship F3 by winning this Saturday morning at Monza in the main race, ahead of his teammates Marcus Armstrong and Jehan Daruvala.

Second on the grid, Lirim Zendeli (Sauber Junior Team by Charouz) had the best start, taking the advantage over pole sitter Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix) when braking for the first chicane.

In the third round, Lundgaard regained his possession before Zendeli attacked again just before the Parabolic. The Sauber Junior Team by Charouz driver tries to resist the Dane on the return to the pit straight, but almost loses control of his car. car, letting Lundgaard pass then Marcus Armstrong (Prema) who pulls the chestnuts out of the fire by taking the lead of the race.

After these adventures, the driver of the Italian team is now ahead of Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport), Lundgaard, Robert Shwartzman (Prema) and Jehan Daruvala (Prema). At the start of the sixth lap, Shwartzman and Daruvala got rid of Lundgaard, before braking for the second chicane, Daruvala pulling straight but maintaining his position in front of Lundgaard.

The latter was in turn forced to return to the pits on the 7th lap to change his front wing, losing all hope of victory.

Miraculous Peroni

The race was then neutralized under safety car regime following the accident of Juri Vips (Hitech GP), who seemed to misjudge his braking at the second chicane, hitting Keyvan Andres (HWA Racelab) and finishing with a damaged car at the left front and immobilized at the edge of the track.

The raise is effective at the end of the 11th round. If Armstrong and Shwartzman keep the first two places, Daruvala gets the better of Verschoor for third place at the first chicane. On lap 15, Shwartzman finally took control of the race from Armstrong.

An impressive accident then occurs for Alex Peroni (Campos Racing), his car having taken off on a “sausage” vibrator at the exit of the Parabolic before ending its frightening trajectory in the fence and landing on a wall of tires. However, the driver got out of his car before being taken to the medical center.

After this scare, the event ended under safety car regime, offering success to Shwartzman ahead of Armstrong and Daruvala, for a Prema hat-trick. Yuki tsunoda (Jenzer) and Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) complete the top 5.
