This is the kind of information we could do without. 2020 F4 ADAC champion Jonny Edgar will unfortunately not continue his season in Formula 3, due to health concerns. “It is with great regret that we say goodbye to Jonny, explained Giacomo Ricci, boss of the Italian Trident team. We wish him a quick recovery. Since the start of the season, he was weakened by physical problems, but he fought like a lion. He never gave up and kept riding. But the conditions force him to take a break from his sporting activities to heal.

Rasmussen as replacement

Sportingly, it is obviously a big blow for Trident, team champion last year thanks to the homogeneity of its trio Novalak-Doohan-Schumacher. The protégé of Red Bull will be replaced by Oliver Rasmussen, who will discover the Italian structure after a first season in F3 with HWA Racelab in 2021 (0 points). “Oliver is a fast and experienced driver, and we are proud to welcome him to the family, further detailed Ricci. I am sure that he will be able to integrate into the team as quickly as possible, and take advantage of the four days of testing in Jerez (April 5-6) and Barcelona (April 15-16), which will be followed by the round at Imola (April 22-24)”. AUTOhebdo wishes Jonny Edgar a speedy recovery.
