FR 2.0-C1: Vandoorne wins ahead of Nato and Chatin

Stoffel Vandoorne (Josef Kaufmann Racing) started from pole position in Race 1 at the Nürburgring and thanks to a good start, he emerged in first position at the first corner ahead of Norman Nato (RC Formula) and Paul-Loup Chatin (Tech 1 Racing). On the German track, overtaking is not numerous and Nato has never been able to attack the Belgian driver, who takes his first victory in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. “I had a very good weekend last week in FR2.0 NEC here, with two poles and two victories, so I arrived with full confidence. It?s important to finally grab this first victory and take points back from Daniil Kvyat. It’s a perfect operation for me today”, rejoices the winner.

After a difficult start to the season, Chatin signs his first podium of the season ahead of Nyck de Vries (R-Ace GP) and Daniil Kvyat (Koiranen Motorsport). The Russian driver attacked Guilherme Silva (Interwetten.com Racing) for fifth place to score important points in the championship while his two main rivals finished in the first two places. Oscar Tunjo (Tech 1 Racing), Alex Riberas (Josef Kaufmann Racing), Miki Wecktrom (KTR), Oliver Rowland (Fortec Motorsport) and Melville McKee (Interwetten.com Racing) complete the Top 10 synonymous with points.
