FR 3.5 – C2: Da Costa takes advantage of Magnussen’s abandonment

At the start of this 13th event of the season, pole sitter Robin Frijns missed his start and was overtaken by six competitors. Qualified in second position, Kevin Magnussen seizes the opportunity to seize first place. The Dane then had a quiet race before encountering mechanical problems on his car a few laps from the finish. However, it was only in the last loop of this race that the Carlin driver was forced to retire, leaving victory to Antonio Felix da Costa.

The Portuguese thus won his first victory in the category even though he did not participate in the first three meetings of the season. Marco Sorensen finished on the second step of the podium ahead of the British Will Stevens and Sam Bird. Robin Frijns is fifth ahead of Arthur Pic, Kevin Korjus and Alexander Red. Jules Bianchi was unable to move up the rankings and finished in ninth place. He is now 24 points behind Robin Frijns in the championship.
