FR 3.5 / C2 – Robin Frijns already in the rhythm

Arthur Pic (Dams) again started from pole in Race 2 at Motorland Aragon but the Frenchman did not keep his advantage over his rivals for long and was quickly overtaken by Marco Sorensen (Lotus) before falling in the standings. The French team then chose to stop its driver early so that he could benefit from a clear track and resume the attack. The Dams driver worked to regain places and signs his first podium in Formula Renault 3.5 Series after having fought for a long time against Kevin Korjus (Tech 1 Racing) who finally lost to fall just short of the podium.

The Frenchman could even have snatched second place from Sam Bird but the ISR team driver was saved by the checkered flag. Victory, however, went to Robin Frijns who took control of the race following the retirement of previous race leader Marco Sorensen due to a mechanical problem. Alexander Red (Arden Caterham) completes the top five ahead of Richie Stanaway (Lotus), Daniil Move (P1 Motorsport) and Will Stevens (Carlin). Nick Yelloly (Comtec Racing), winner of Race 1, only took 18th place.

Jules Bianchi (Tech 1 Racing) experienced a catastrophic weekend. After being demoted from Race 1 despite having taken second place, the Frenchman stalled on the starting grid after taking seventh position. The Force India reserve driver was working to move up the field but received a drive-through following his team's intervention on the car. The Tech 1 Racing driver finished 13th.
