FR 3.5 – C2: Sam Bird wins at home

Second fastest in qualifying, Marco Sorensen (Lotus) took advantage of Jules Bianchi's poor start to take first place at the first corner. Despite the pressure exerted by Sam Bird, the Dane held on and thought he would secure his second victory of the season, but a puncture in the penultimate loop forced him to retire. The Briton, firmly established in second position since the start of the event, took the opportunity to win at home on the Silverstone circuit.

He therefore started Race 2 in 26th position to finish in fifth place ahead of Will Stevens and Nico Müller. Nick Yelloly completes the Top 8 ahead of championship leader Robin Frijns, who fell down the order late in the race. Thanks to his victory, Sam Bird regains second place in the championship and is only five points behind the Dutchman Robin Frijns. Jules Bianchi is third, six points behind the leader.
