With the title of F4 France champion in his pocket, the FIA and FFSA galas past, Alessandro Giusti is now turning towards his next objective: FRECA. Present during the four winter testing sessions at Red Bull Ring, at Castellet, at Monza and at Barcelona, the Ile-de-France resident had the opportunity to ride with G4 Racing, the team he will represent in 2023. Tests where the member of AUTOhebdo's Rookie Academy was able to measure himself against some of his future comrades and where he especially quickly adapted to the Tatuus T-318, the car of the championship.

« I quickly got used to the car, he explains. After one session, I was already in the rhythm. I feel quite comfortable with it even though it is very physical. It was very good. We have done a good job but there are still some details to refine, particularly on the physical level. The FRECA car is very physical. In terms of set-up we were pretty good. Now we need to make the final adjustments to be able to achieve good performance."

Despite the discovery of a car that is still new to him, Sandro showed himself to be competitive during these end-of-year tests. While driving for the first time on two new circuits for him, Alessandro Giusti regularly ranked among the fastest drivers on the track.

« I was always in the Top 10 during the end of year testing sessionsHe says. The two circuits that I didn't know were ultimately the ones where I did better. At the Red Bull Ring, where we had no reference, and in Barcelona, where I had my best performance, I felt really good. In Monza, it was a little more delicate because of the temperatures in particular and in Castellet it was a bit harder physically."

Alessandro Giusti, 2023 in his sights

If G4 Racing is not among the main forces on the field like Prema, R-ace GP or even ART Grand Prix, the Habs still remains optimistic for this new adventure. “ During testing it was very good, he admits. Now all that remains is to confirm. If we work well I think we can do good things. » However, there is no question of getting fired up. Despite good winter testing, Alessandro Giusti prefers to wait a little longer before setting a very specific objective for the 2023 season.

« For the moment I'm not getting too far ahead because it was only testing and we don't necessarily have all the benchmarks compared to the other drivers., points out the last champion of F4 France. We don't really know what set-up they are running with. I'm waiting for the official tests to get an idea and set myself goals."
