Under the Catalan sun, everything started very well for Paul Aron (Prema). In pole position after dominating qualifying, the protégé of Mercedes made a perfect start by sheltering himself from a possible attack from Dilano Van't Hoff (MP Motorsport) or Kas Haverkort (Var).
Well helped by the various battles in his wake, Paul Aron was quickly able to open up a gap to experience a quiet race. It was without counting on a Hadrien David (R-ace GP) unleashed in the last 10 minutes. After getting rid of Dilano Van't Hoff and Kas Haverkort, the Habs came back like a rocket on the Estonian who was then quietly in the lead.
At 6,7 or even 9 tenths per lap, Hadrien David quickly got back on Paul Aron in the final moments. Unfortunately, the Frenchman tried everything on the Prema driver but his very good defense prevented him from attempting the slightest attack, thus settling for 2e place for 147 thousandths while Dilano Van't Hoff scored his first points of the season with 3e position on the line.
Leader of the championship, Dino Beganovic (Prema) experienced a somewhat choppy race. Up 10e on the grid after the engine penalty of Lorenzo Fluxa (R-ace GP), the Swede suffered even completing the first lap at 14e place. If he was able to come back subsequently, the one who is close to the title finished at the gates of the Top 10 and without the slightest point. Starting behind Dino Beganovic, Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix) made a good comeback to 5e place reducing the gap in the championship. Always 2e, the Italian came back to 43 lengths behind his rival before the last race of the weekend this Sunday (16:25 p.m.).
