After Dino Beganovic (Prema) twice, Paul Aron (Prema) and Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix), the FRECA 2022 has a new race winner in the person of Hadrien David (R-ace GP). In the streets of Monaco, the Tricolore delivered a solid performance this Saturday morning to sign their first success of this campaign.

It all started perfectly for the one who made his return to the fold ofAlpine at the start of the season. Starting from pole position on the grid, Hadrien David didn't flinch when the lights went out and negotiated the first corner with complete confidence to stay at the head of the peloton.

Within the walls of the Principality, the R-ace GP driver did not give in to championship leader Dino Beganovic. A safe time with almost a second in advance, the Frenchman saw the Swede come back to less than half a second. While the latter was gradually getting closer, the Royannais would be greatly helped by the neutralization of the race.

A daring attack by Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport) on Esteban Massonn (FA Racing) at the Fairmont hairpin would in fact cause a red flag 20 minutes from time. A situation which allowed Hadrien David to breathe before restarting the pack for a sprint of around 5 minutes.

Quickly sheltered from Dino Beganovic after the restart, Hadrien David managed his end of the race to obtain his first victory of the season, the 3e of rank for R-ace GP in Monaco after those of Isack Hadjar and Zane Maloney in 2021, ahead of the Swede and Kai Haverkort (VAR). Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix) and Michael Belov (MP Motorsport) completed the Top 5 of this Race 1.
