He had often come close, before being blown away by Saucy, Colapinto or other Maloneys. This time, Hadrien David didn’t ask anyone for their opinion. In Monza, in the temple of speed, the native of Royan signed his first pole position since joining the category F3 Regional in 2020.

In Monza, on a circuit where aspiration is key, the Tricolore was able to find the resources to align the times by being very consistent. He was just ahead of champion Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix/+0”030) and the man in form from the second part of the season, Argentinian Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport/+0”051).

Dislodged at Mugello from his second place in the ranking which he has held for a long time by Paul Aron (Prema), Hadrien did the job in qualifying to give himself a real chance of getting it back. His Estonian rival, with whom he has been fighting for years karting, could not do better than 12th at 0.

However, if we usually say that you just need to start from pole to win in this category, Monza is a little more complex than that with the game of aspirations and everything will still have to be done. Already the author of some good performances this year, Gabriel Bortoleto (FA Racing) surprisingly finished 4th. He is ahead of Zane Maloney (R-ace GP) and Andrea Rosso (FA Racing).

Follows Isack Hadjar (R-ace GP), who led the pack ten minutes from time. The rookie set the 7th fastest time, just 143 thousandths from pole, in a very tight session. In any case, he is in his goals since he is competing this Saturday with Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix/+0”176) for the title of rookie of the season. With a lead of eleven points over his competitor, he will in any case start two places ahead of the Italian, only 9th in qualifying.

Performing well in the collective test, Prema finished far away and in a group shot, since Dino Beganovic was 11th, Paul Aron 12th and David Vidales 14th. For his part, the Habs Sami Meguetounif (R-ace GP), who is competing in his second FRECA meeting after Mugello, qualified in 18th position, half a second from his teammate's pole. Race 1 to follow this Saturday afternoon at 14:25 p.m.
