This is called undisputed dominance. Started from pole position for the first time in his career, Kas Haverkort (VAR) left nothing to chance to sign his first victory in FRECA for his 2e season in the championship.

Everything started perfectly for the Dutchman. With an excellent reaction to the lights going out, Kas Haverkort took advantage of the eventful start of his pursuers, like Paul Aron (Prema) slipping as he set off. Quickly sheltered, the Batavian was able to negotiate the first turn without incident and set off for his first success in FRECA.

On a very good pace, Kas Haverkort immediately created a gap with his closest pursuer Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix) who was never able to keep up the pace. With quickly more than 2 seconds in advance, the VAR driver was able to manage his 2e part of the race where he made no mistakes, leaving his rivals without the slightest chance of catching up with him.

Alone in the world and with more than 4 seconds ahead of Gabriele Mini and almost 20 over Roman Belinski (Trident), who won his first podium in the category, Kas Haverkort crossed the finish line alone. Thanks to this victory, he gained a place in the championship, moving from 5e the 4e held until now by Hadrien David (R-ace GP), 8e under the checkerboard. Gabriele Mini came back to 2nd and came back 27 lengths behind leader Dino Beganovic (Prema), 7th in Race 1.

First point for Masson

This Race 1 was also the opportunity for Esteban Masson (FA Racing) to open his account in FRECA. At the Hungaroring where he scored a pole position and a victory in F4 France in 2021, the Habs showed solidity to score their first point in the championship.

Part 10e, Esteban Masson held on to this position which offered him the last point at stake until the end. Battling with Laurens van Hoepen (ART Grand Prix) for a good part of Race 1, the Frenchman resisted the pressure put on him by his rival to appear in the Top 10 at the finish. A fair reward for him who had shown good speed since the start of the Hungarian meeting with notably the best time of FP2 this Friday.
