Monza was the ideal setting to quantify Dino Beganovic's progress. The Swede, third in Italian F4 in 2020, knows the track well, on which he experienced moments of joy and disappointment last year. He had in fact taken one of the two poles there, the only one of his year, before ruining everything in the race by clashing spectacularly with David Vidales, his teammate at Prema, while a victory was in his arms. The incident itself came three weeks after a similar scenario, during the previous round at Mugello, where he qualified on the second row before being caught up once again in a collision.
