For its first season in Formula Regionale by Alpine, French driver Maceo Capietto (Monolite Racing) set the best time in Free Practice 1 with 1'56”170, this Friday morning at Imola. Third in Formula 4 France last season, the rookie achieved the best time in the morning session marked by three red flags on a wet track. Maceo Capietto is ahead of Michael Belov (MP Motorsport) and Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix) at 0”339 and 0”813 respectively. The two Prema Racing drivers who had shone at Monza, Paul Aron and Dino Beganovic, were unable to compete with the Frenchman, finishing 2″4 and 3 seconds behind the reference time.
For the other French people on the track, Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport) finished in the top 10 in 9th place with a time of 1'57″442. Victor Bernier (FA Racing) is in 12th place, 1″6 behind the reference time. Hadrien David (R-ACE GP) finished more than 2 seconds behind Maceo Capietto in 18th place. Owen Tangavelou (G4 Racing) and Esteban Masson (FA Racing) are 30th and 32nd respectively.
