Esteban Masson and FA Racing, it’s over. The reigning French F4 champion will no longer evolve within the structure which bears the name of Fernando Alonso. The Frenchman took advantage of an opportunity and a vacant seat at ART Grand Prix to join the ranks of the Burgundian team. From the next round scheduled at Spa-Francorchamps (July 29-31), he will compete in the car white and black alongside his new teammates Gabriele Mini and Laurens Van Hoepen, since the Spaniard Mari Boya has decided not to finish the season with ART Grand Prix.

“Esteban learned a lot at FA Racing, his manager Didier André told us. I would like to thank FA Racing for the work done and for agreeing to release Esteban from his contract. A place became available at ART and we jumped on the opportunity. A month and a half earlier, we probably wouldn’t have done it, it would have been too early, but now Esteban is ready to join ART.”

" I was not excpecting that at all " confides Masson

For his part, Esteban Masson, 17, who scored his first point during the last round in Hungary, was obviously delighted to be able to sign with the team which won the last two titles in the category (2021 with Saucy, 2020 in Formula Renault with Martins). “To be honest, I didn’t expect it at all, he told us. I was fully focused on my job with FA when I received the good news. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to join such a competitive team in every series they compete in. My goals will not change, it will be about learning and trying to get as many points as possible at the end of the season.”.

As for Mari Boya, he will finish the season in the MP Motorsport team. At FA Racing, it is the Italian Francesco Braschi who will replace the Frenchman in Hungary.
