For the first time this season this Saturday, the introduction of push-to-pass really dynamited a FRECA race. This Sunday, Race 2 confirmed the excellent choice made by the FIA, Alpine and the ACI to implement this magic button. It was Gabriele Mini (ART Grand Prix) who won Race 2 after a great battle which pitted her against championship leader Dino Beganovic.

The Swede only needed a few laps to get rid of Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) and take second place. And very quickly, taking advantage in particular of the interventions of the safety car, he got closer to the Italian and was going to attack him. But the ART driver knows it: he no longer has the right to lose points on the Swede so he closed the door with authority at the chicane of the Beausset straight.

Both men were so wide in the turn that they both hit the cones. A new safety car in the last ten minutes deprived Dino of further attacks, and Mini only had to manage two final laps under pressure in order to win for the second time of the year. Winner of Race 1 this Saturday, Paul Aron finished just off the podium (4th) after losing several positions at the start. He finished just ahead of Hadrien David (R-ace GP), who had a similar race with losses of positions at the start of the race before ending with a bang. The pilot Alpine finished 5th.

On the side of his compatriots, a lot of abandonment to deplore unfortunately. Victor Bernier and Macéo Capietto were in fact caught in the same collision at the start of the race, while Owen Tangavelou had to abandon a few minutes later. Same fate for Esteban Masson. The Habs attacked Dufek at the chicane of the Beausset straight, on the inside, but the latter fell back on him and forced him to abandon. In the championship, Dino Beganovic, 2nd, consolidates his lead at the top of the championship in total over the weekend's two races. It now has 63 points more than its runner-up Mini.
