Congratulations Grégoire! How does it feel to win your first career title?

I think I don't realize it yet... and that it will come later this evening or in the next few days. I just know it's amazing. We had an almost perfect season. There were a few hiccups like in Monaco where I didn't score any points, but that's already forgotten. We had a great season. Strangely, the race that won my title really wasn't my best. I missed my two Safety Car restarts and lost two places (he finished 5th, editor's note). We will have to work to further improve the car for Sunday. But I'm so happy to win this title...

We felt a lot of emotions during the celebration with ART Grand Prix…

Clearly! We did all this together, this title belongs to them as much as it does to me. It's incredible, we have to take advantage of these moments, and from now on, concentrate on winning the Teams title. You must not relax!

Was it a goal to secure the title on Saturday?

No, it wasn't particularly intended. Afterwards, it is always better when the title is validated as soon as possible. But honestly, if I could have fought harder to keep 3rd and 4th place, I would have done so. I obviously tried to take as little risk as possible. I had a little luck in the first lap, Hadrien David was less lucky. In the end, it's not a bad race, I started P7 and finished P5.

Few people were counting on an outrageous domination from you before the winter tests. What about you?

Of course I believed in it, because you have to believe in it to achieve it! I believed in it from the start of the season, even before the trials. I'm happy to prove to those who didn't believe in me that I'm capable of doing great things.

What has changed between the Grégoire of 2020 and that of 2021?

It's just the atmosphere with my engineer, my mechanic, and with the team more generally. We know each other better and better, it has made a big difference, and above all we have worked very hard. I gained experience too. I am a very happy pilot.
