FR2.0-C2: Ben Barnicoat opens his counter at the Nürburgring

Due to the rain, the start was given under the safety car regime. After four laps during which Jehan Daruvala (Fortec Motorsports) and Vasily Romanov (Cram Motorsport) had to retire, it released the competitors. Initially cautious, the leading drivers retained their positions. Ben Barnicoat left Martin Kodrić to fight with Ukyo Sasahara. The Japanese found the opening on the sixth lap, but the Croatian responded straight away. Behind them, Anthoine Hubert had to manage the pressure from Louis Delétraz, who had overtaken Kevin Jörg a lap earlier.

While Ben Barnicoat escaped in the lead, his teammate Martin Kodrić managed to get rid of Ukyo Sasahara. Among the title contenders, Jack Aitken was surprised by Jake Hughes in the sixth round. Three laps later, Ukyo Sasahara made a mistake and was relegated to sixth place, between Kevin Jörg and Jake Hughes, who saw Jack Aitken regain his position immediately.
Solid leader, Ben Barnicoat won with more than six seconds ahead of Martin Kodrić, who gave Fortec Motorsports the double. Anthoine Hubert resisted attacks from Louis Delétraz to obtain his fifth podium of the year. Kevin Jörg was fifth, followed by Jack Aitken and Jake Hughes, who passed Ukyo Sasahara on the final lap. Ignazio D?Agosto (Manor MP Motorsport) and Harrison Scott (AVF)? best rookie of the day – also finished in the points.
