FR20 – Sacha Fenestraz crowned champion in Barcelona

The start is chaotic since Max Defourny (R-Ace GP) is sent into a spin after contact with Gabriel Aubry (Tech 1). The two drivers being in 3e and 4e positions, around ten other drivers were unable to avoid the two cars on the track. The race is directly stopped since the first 3 turns are blocked by cars.

After a quarter of an hour of waiting, the race resumed under a safety car for one lap with Robert Shwarzman (R-Ace GP) in the lead in front Sacha fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann) and Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport). The French attacked the Russian in the first round but was unable to pass him. The safety car returns to the track to recover the cars of Neil Verhagen (MP Motorsport) and Raul Guzman (R-Ace GP).

If Robert Shwarzman once again offered a demonstration in the race, second place in Sacha fenestraz allows him to be crowned Formula champion Renault 2.0 Eurocup and succeed Lando Norris despite an investigation hovering over the two leaders of the race. Richard Verschoor finishes 3e of the race after a bitter battle with Max Fewtrell (Tech 1 Racing).

Jarno Opmeer (MP Motorsport) was able to hold off Will Palmer (R-Ace GP) who finished in 6e position and leaves the title to Fenestraz. Daniel Ticktum (Arden) finishes the race in 7e position ahead of Alexandr Vartanyan (JD Motorsport), Logan Sergeant (R-Ace GP) and Ye Yifei (Josef Kaufmann) while half the grid failed to finish the race.
