FV8 3.5-C1: Vaxivière wins, Dillmann third in Austria

After the second race at the Spa meeting in Belgium, Matthieu Vaxiviere scored his second success of the season in Formula V8 3.5, on the track of Red Bull Ring in Austria. It was at the start that the SMP Racing driver built his victory, getting the better of pole sitter Louis Delétraz (Fortec Motorsports), author of an average takeoff which saw him fall to third place behind Russian Egor Orudzhev (Arden ), forced to return to the pits during the round, visibly disturbed by a problem on his car.

Vaxivière will control the entire event, keeping Delétraz, back in second position, at a sufficient distance to avoid being attacked by the Swiss driver. The intervention of the safety car to evacuate the car from the René Binder (Lotus) stage venue a little less than ten minutes from the finish did not change the situation and Vaxivière won ahead of Delétraz.

Tom Dillmann (AVF) achieved a good performance in the championship by finishing third, when his main rival Roy Nissany (Lotus) only took sixth place behind Alfonso Celis Jr (AVF) and Aurélien Panis (Arden), returned to fifth position after qualifying 11th.

The second race of the weekend will take place tomorrow at 12:20 p.m. after a qualifying session starting at 8:30 a.m.
