FV8 3.5-C2: Panis ahead of Dillmann

After the victory of Matthieu Vaxivière (SMP Racing) yesterday, France once again imposed its law in Formula V8 3.5 on the Austrian track at Spielberg. Aurélien Panis (Arden) pocketed his second success of the year after that obtained at the start of the season at Motorland Aragon in Spain and ahead of Tom Dillmann (AVF) and pole sitter Matevos Isaakyan (SMP Racing) at the finish.

The Russian driver had retained the advantage at the start, but the salvo of refueling which followed the intervention of the safety car (deployed to evacuate the car of Cipriani, stuck in the gravel trap) will benefit the Arden team and Aurélien Panis, who will emerge in the lead ahead of Tom Dillmann, Isaakyan falling to third place, the trio no longer evolving until the finish.

Louis Delétraz (Fortec Motorsports) finished in fourth place ahead of Egor Orudzhev (Arden) and Matthieu Vaxivière. Roy Nissany (Lotus) once again had a complicated race, the Israeli being involved in contact with Yu Kanamaru (Teo Martin Motorsport). The Japanese suffered a right-rear puncture, ending his race off-track, while Nissany was forced to return to the pits to change his front wing.

In the championship, Dillmann remains firmly in first position with 40 points ahead of Delétraz. Aurélien Panis moves up to 3rd place, two points behind the Swiss.
