GP3 – Russell and ART GP dominate at Monza

Things are looking easier than expected for George Russell since Nirei Fukuzumi fails to reach pole position. At the start, the three ARTs took off, leaving behind the collision between Leonardo Pulcini and Alessio Lorandi which caused the intervention of the safety car.

At the restart, the battle for 4e place between Schothorst, Kari, Boccolacci, Ticktum and Correa allows the members of the French team to secure the podium. Anthoine Hubert manages to pass the pilot Mercedes the 11e turn but returns to second two loops later.

A collision between the Jenzers of Juan Manuel Correa and Arjun Maini involves the intervention of the virtual safety car which brings the three leaders closer together. With his experience of the VSC, Aitken passes his two teammates but is passed again by Russell. Niko Kari's accident on the last lap freezes the positions.

Russell wins his fourth race of the season ahead of Aitken and Hubert. Marcos Siebert finishes 4the in front of the Trident of Ryan Tveter and Giuliano Alesi. Tatiana Calderon signs her best result in GP3 with a 7e place in front Julien Falchero, Kevin Jörg and Bruno Baptista. Dorian Boccolacci is relegated to the bottom of the standings after a collision with Daniel Ticktum and a change of front wing.
