If Victor Martins and Isack Hadjar represented France loud and clear in F3 this year, the next campaign promises to be somewhat more difficult for the Tricolores. Thus, among the thirty or so, drivers present in Jerez last week for the end-of-season F3 tests, only one Frenchman responded: Hadrien Dadid. On site, the pilot who is a member of the “Affiliate” programAlpine was able to ride with Carlin for 2 days, even among the fastest on the Andalusian asphalt.

« It was a big discovery for me coming from FRECA, Hadrien David told us. The two cars have nothing to do with each other. I discovered a car which has 150 more horsepower, DRS, wider tires, more grip, more aerodynamic downforce,… There was a lot to learn. I was with Carlin, a superb team historically speaking. It was very good for learning. On the track, I was able to do race simulation in particular. I was told that this was the most important point so we really insisted on it. I now hope that it will pay off for next year, whether with Carlin or another team.."

Looking for an opportunity to experience F3 with a view to possible promotion to the championship in 2023, Hadrien David found himself representing Carlin on the track. A team with whom links had been established before. “ We had contacts for a while so I could ride with themHe says. It was the perfect opportunity in the end, because from a financial point of view it was too complicated. Fortunately, Carlin made me a perfect offer which allowed me to do my first tests in F3. » And this first handover went relatively well for the Royannais. “ The adaptation was quicker than I ultimately thought. I was pretty happy about that. The race simulations went well and we were able to be at the front of the peloton (...) The goal is to move into F3, whether with Carlin or another team. I feel very good with them and I hope that everything will come together for me to sign there. They showed that they are gaining momentum with Zak O'Sullivan taking a pole position »

End 2022 in style

With the F3 parenthesis behind him, even if he continues to prepare for his future, Hadrien David is now turning towards his end of the season in FRECA. Fourth two rounds from the final whistle and above all 78 points behind leader Dino Beganovic (Prema), the R-ace GP driver hopes to continue the momentum of his victory in the Red Bull Ring (September 11) and thus end the year in style, he who is no longer aiming for the championship title at all.

« I am rather happy with the dynamics of these last meetings, he admits to us. Since Monaco, even if there was Castellet in the meantime where things didn't necessarily go well, every weekend I have at least one pole position, a podium or a victory. Whether at Zandvoort, Spa-Francorchamps, Budapest, Austria, I remain on a good run and we have made good progress after a very difficult start to the season. I hope we can confirm it in Barcelona. It's a track that has always been difficult for me but I hope I can reverse the trend this year.

I don't watch the championship at all. It's been a while since I've done it. This is not the most important thing, I was able to see last year that finishing vice-champion did not help me find solutions. This year my main goal was to win in Monaco and I did it. From now on, the goal is to finish in style, confirm and finish in front of my teammate. If we can continue the dynamic of the Red Bull Ring, that’s great.." In any case we wish you.
