Clearly, young French dragsters have decided to make Monaco their garden! Less than twenty-four hours after the pole signed by Theo Pourchaire en Formula 2, Isack Hadjar (R-ace GP) imitated his elder in Formula Regionale by Alpine by dominating their qualifying group this Friday morning.
After exchanging provisional pole with Gabriele Mini on the first set of tires, the Tricolore was without opponent in the second part of the session, setting a lightning time in 1'29"727. Paul Aron (Prema/+0 »277) simply managed to get closer, as did Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport/+0 »480), 3rd in the session ahead of David Vidales (Prema/+0 »485).
Emidio Pesce's (DR Formula) spin at the end of the session prevented everyone from trying another fast lap, but it was obviously all good for Isack Hadjar. 3rd in the F4 France championship last year, Hadjar confirms his very good start to the season for a rookie.
Thanks to this superb result, he ensured he started on the front row during both races of the weekend. The result of Group 2 of qualifying will determine whether the R-ace GP driver will start in Race 1 or 2.
