La Frédéric Sausset sector “Un Volant Pour Tous” received the approval of the FIA ​​and the ACO through their respective presidents, Messrs Jean Todt and Pierre Fillon but also Vincent Beaumesnil and Nicolas Deschaux (FFSA).

Less than a year after its official launch during the week of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2017, La Filière Frédéric Sausset takes off on the Paul Ricard circuit during the VdeV Series.

The French team based in Blois is entering a Ligier JS P3 for its first season in the LM P3 category of the VdeV Series. This car would also be entered next year in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and in the European Le Mans Series in 2020..

“The winter was very studious, explains Frédéric Sausset. We had to meet a number of partners, select and train our pilots, and retrain our team. We are ready to start our season in the VdeV Series. This is the first of three steps towards the 24 2020 Hours of Le Mans for which we have an invitation from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.”

Three drivers were selected to represent La Filière: the Japanese Takuma Aoki, the Belgian Nigel Bailly and the French Snoussi Ben Moussa.

“It was fundamental for us to have a crew representing multiple continents, nationalities and disabilities, recalls Frédéric Sausset. We got there with talented drivers with great potential.”

Takuma Aoki was born 44 years ago and lives in Tokyo (Japan). He is a professional pilot and business manager. His track record includes numerous motorcycle titles (1995 and 1996 “All Japan Road Race Championship” champion in the Superbike category, fifth in the World Championship). Moto GP 1997) and car (winner of the GT Cup category in the Asian Le Mans Series in 2016). Takuma has been paraplegic since 1998 following a motorcycle accident.

“I will finally be able to realize my dream of participating in the 24 hours of Le Mans! Thank you Frédéric!, he says. I will continue to relay a message to the world: that the possibilities of human beings are infinite! My first goal will be to finish the races with our combined efforts, then gradually improve our results.”

Snoussi Ben Moussa is 35 years old. He lives in Pont Sainte Maxence (Oise). Snoussi has been a car driving instructor since the end of 2008 with the Pro-pulsion structure. His best competitive result was an eleventh place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Karting 2013. Snoussi has his left hand amputated.

“Thanks to La Filière Frédéric Sausset, my dream will be able to come true. Through this sector we will be able to show that we are capable of being at the same level as the best able-bodied pilots, specifies Snoussi Ben Moussa.

Disability is not a barrier. We must convey the message that it is always possible to realize your dreams and that it is time to accept people affected by disabilities in all sporting events.”

Nigel Bailly is 28 years old and lives in Trazegnies in Belgium. Nigel competes today in the Belgian BGDC championships. He has been paraplegic since 2004, when he suffered a serious motocross accident.

“I really want to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, of course. But I also want to have fun with the people around me, the team, develop technically and physically, and ensure that this experience benefits as many people as possible. It’s a crazy experience that awaits us! »

For its debut at Paul Ricard, La Filière Frédéric Sausset is already writing a new PAGE of motorsport by presenting for the first time in history, a 100% disabled crew on a closed prototype. La Filière Frédéric Sausset will participate in the entire remainder of the 2018 VdeV Series season, in Dijon, Navarra (Spain), Le Mans, Estoril (Portugal).
