Apart from Tech 1 Racing, TDS Racing and Team Lompech Sport, who had already tested their new machines, all the other teams took their first laps in Barcelona with New Mégane Trophy.
Thursday morning, the Swiss Jonathan Hirschi set the pace by setting a time very close to the record set by Michaël Red with a car at the end of development in 2008. In the afternoon, the heat made things more difficult for the drivers and no one managed to beat Hirschi.
The second day was marked by the domination of Dimitri Enjalbert. For his return to Boutsen Energy Racing, the team whose colors he defended in the Clio Cup in 2006, the Frenchman concluded the morning with a brilliant 1'51"345, shattering Rossi's record: "My objective is clear: to win the title. I am happy to rediscover Boutsen Energy Racing. The atmosphere is perfect and it's ideal to start with the best time. The thirty extra horses are really appreciable and the car performs better in curves. I can't wait to see the first starting grid with all the elytra doors open... It's going to be awesome! »
