The Formula Renault 2.0 series maintained in 2016

Renault Sport Technologies has confirmed the maintenance of the ALPS, NEC and Eurocup series of Formula Renault 2.0 in 2016, following a meeting held last week.

Le Losange announced last July that it would end its involvement in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series at the end of the year and was considering a new format for the World Series by Renault with its promoter partner RPM Racing. But the French manufacturer had already reaffirmed its desire to support Formula Renault 2.0.

Renault Sport Technologies will strengthen cooperation between the three series in order toavoid date clashes. Drivers will be able to register in several series and accumulate the points necessary to obtain the FIA license.

The tricolor brand also promises that at least 7 tests will be contested on major circuits in Europe in all three series.
