Lyon expects more

If Olympique Lyonnais has built a solid reputation within European football, the Rhone club expects the SuperLeague Formula to reinforce this status. But, during the first test, the results did not live up to Lyon's hopes. “ We decided late to enter this Superleague. As a result, we recovered our engine late » explained Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais, at the end of the Magny-Cours weekend.

Nelson Panciatici, alongside a high-level GP2 Series program, also hopes to use this competition as a showcase. The French pilot was not varnished at Magny-Cours. At the end of the weekend, the lack of engine power was judged to be responsible for the lack of punch of the car Lyonnaise. But the Frenchman has since resolved this problem with the Epsilon team: “ The organizers exceptionally gave us one hour of driving at Magny-Cours to resolve the engine failure which was due to a problem with too low fuel pressure due to a broken fitting inside the tank. »And now, Nelson Panciatici is filled with hope: “ We are completely reassured because we recovered the 25 kilometers per hour that we were missing in a straight line with lap times at the level of the best, plus we drove without the slightest problem. »

After occupying the back of the peloton during the French round, Panciatici now hopes to take OL to the top. “ Our Magny-Cours tests allow us to revise our objectives upwards and reasonably consider fighting for the podium. » Focused on his objective, the Frenchman feels confident before tackling this round of Zolder. “ I have prepared myself well physically and I am coming from a GP2 race, so I am ready to face the competition which, I am sure, will be tough. »
