Four FR 2.0 for ARTA Engineering

Arnaud Tanguy's team, based in Téloché, near Le Mans, competed last year in the MEC FR 2.0 championship organized by the promoter of Renault Swiss Sport. The latter joined forces with the organizer of the Italian FR, Fast Lane Promotion, to create the ALPS championship. Seven rounds are scheduled, in no less than five different countries (Italy, France, Austria, Belgium and Hungary).

ARTA Engineering is already certain to enter two of its four 2.0 generation FR 2010s in the ALPS. One for Alexandre Cougnaud (19 years old), the other for Amir Mesny (20 years old). Yann Zimmer (20 years old), Volant ACO-Auto Hebdo in 2009, trained at the Auto Sport Academy and brilliant presenter of the MEC last year, will have the third car. The exact program of the Franco-Switzerland remains to be determined, depending on the content of the combined budget: either the ALPS and three Eurocup races, or a complete double program. Note that in the case of a double program in the two championships, the rule is that a driver entered in the Eurocup can only benefit from the eight days of collective tests organized, while a competitor entered only in the ALPS at full-time has more training freedom.

Arnaud Tanguy is in negotiations with another promising driver for the fourth car. The announcement should not take long, as the first official tests of the Eurocup FR 2.0 will take place from February 28 to March 1 on the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit.
