The Tech 1 Racing team is having a difficult start to the season. Neither the performance of the Toulouse team's single-seaters nor Charles Pic and Brendon Hartley can be called into question, but Simon Abadie is sounding the alarm, hoping for a quick reaction.

Simon Abadie awaits a reaction

Four races were contested in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, and Tech 1 Racing, reigning champion team, is marking time. Simon Abadie?s men suffer from a cruel lack of success, associated with small mistakes with serious consequences. As a result, Charles Pic is only 7th in the drivers' ranking, 29 points behind the leader, Marcos Martinez and Tech 1 Racing are in 8th place in the Teams' ranking.

In a few days the Formula Renault 3.5 Series will take place in Monaco, where Alvaro Parente in 2007 and Charles Pic in 2008 won under the colors of Tech 1 Racing. Simon Abadie is waiting for a reaction from his troops and is making it known.

“The team makes mistakes, the drivers make mistakes? everyone really needs to pull together,” analyzes Abadie. “Pit stops were one of our strong points, it must not become our weak point. The Formula Renault 3.5 Series is a very tight discipline, where things can come down to a detail. To win, you have to be perfect, the slightest mistake can have serious consequences. Today we lack serenity. We need to put things back on track, without turning everything upside down. I have confidence in my team, we are double Champions Teams, we have already proven what our level is and we will prove it again quickly. The main thing is to regain confidence! I expect a general recovery from my entire team. We must do exemplary work to return to victory very quickly. »

Simon Abadie, however, remains positive as the Monaco round approaches, and hopes that things will change: “For several years, our season has really started in Monaco. Charles exploded into the big days last year by winning there. Brendon has already proven his great driving skills during city races in F3, especially in Macau. We will prepare well for this event. We are therefore confident and like every race, our goal will be to win. »
