Ticktum dropped by Red Bull Junior Team

The turbulent Daniel Ticktum suffers a new setback in his young career. The Briton, aged 20, no longer has the support of Red Bull, according to revelations from Helmut Marko to the Austrian website Speedweek (owned by Red Bull). The 2018 vice-champion of Formula 3 Europe is kicked out of the Red Bull Junior Team program.

Strange trajectory than that of Daniel Ticktum, carried to the heavens by the community of car in case of his victory at the Macau Grand Prix in November 2018. At the time, rumors regarding a direct arrival at Toro Rosso en Formula 1 in 2019 or 2020 was legion.

Red Bull even added it to its testing schedule after the Barcelona Grand Prix (Spain) in May 2019. In short, Daniel Ticktum held the rope to continue the detection program of the Austrian firm.

Unfortunately, a disappointing start to the Super Formula campaign (8th at Suzuka, retirement at Autopolis, 15th at Sugo) considerably weighed down his side. This sudden ousting raises the question of the continuation of his program in Japan. Indeed, his contract with the Mugen team was taken care of by Red Bull (his car was adorned with the livery identical to the F1 of Max Verstappen et Pierre Gasly).

Daniel Ticktum will have to quickly get back in the saddle, he who was banned for two years from all motor racing after an incident at Silverstone (Great Britain) in British Formula 4. In 2015, the teenager overtook 10 cars under Safety Car regime, before deliberately hitting Ricky Collard. In 2018, he was the target of strong criticism within Red Bull itself after having denounced the return in force of Mick Schumacher in F3 Europe.
