V de V Endurance Series – Dijon Prenois: Race 1 – Funyo Challenge and V de V Single Seater!

Challenge Single seat V of V? Dijon – Race 1: Buret sings in the rain

The showers which had until then bypassed the sky over Prenois welcomed the pilots this Saturday morning. As a result of the wet track they discovered this weekend, the competitors were allowed to perform two reconnaissance laps before the start was given behind the safety car. When the pack is released, Timothé Buret, the author of pole position, plays with the conditions to achieve the hole-shot, while Xavier Benecchi, qualified at his side, immediately spins and tears off a wheel .

Jordan Perroy, third in qualifying, took the opportunity to place himself in the wake of the leader and demonstrated his burst of speed throughout the event. However, he never manages to take the measure of Buret, the driver of the Palmyr team who confirms in these difficult conditions his excellent performances at Le Castellet, at the beginning of June. After a final neutralization that occurred five minutes from the checkered flag, Timothé crossed the line 6 ahead of his first pursuer with the best lap in the race in his pocket... in the last!

Perroy, who manages to grab second place, is on the other hand closely followed by the current leader of the Challenge, Daniele Cazzaniga. Fourth on the grid, the Italian took advantage of Benecchi?s abandonment to climb to the third step of the podium in a race marked by numerous spins. The resident of the GSK Grand Prix team precedes Sylvain Milesi, author of a faultless run which notably saw him overcome Antonin Borga, 3rd in the Challenge, to quite easily win group B ahead of Grégory Choukroun (12th at the finish). ) and Thierry Aimard (15th).

Funyo V of V Challenge? Dijon – Race 1: Houllier’s flawless performance

Like the Single-seater Challenge, the start of which was given less than an hour before, the competitors in the Funyo Challenge completed two reconnaissance laps because of the rain which continued to fall. The drivers then line up behind the safety car which takes the peloton for three laps, before letting them go for a hard-fought battle until the checkered flag! Leader in qualifying, Romain Houllier remains at the start of the race, during which he leads Jean-Pascal Burguet in his wake. But behind, Jean Quelet attacks hard and takes second place. Serge Heriau is even more competitive and allows himself to overtake the JL Pure Racing driver before spinning. Although Houllier has built a good lead at the top, the ranking is far from fixed and the fight for victory now pits five Funyo 5s, in the hands of Quelet (#11), Burguet (#16) Serge (# 36) and François Heriau (#37). The latter, the son of the family, is entered this year in Challenge Endurance Proto at the wheel of a Tatuus with the Lahaye family. Experienced in driving this type of car, he started the last lap in third position, but his father finally overtook him before the checkerboard to climb to the third step of the podium. As for Burguet, contender for one of these three steps, he finally closes the Top 5 in front of Cyril Denis.

Finally, Frédéric Padiou wins ahead of his rival Jérémy Guyot in the Funyo 4 RC peloton.
