Vidales wins Race 1, David on the podium

It’s definitely a track that he really likes. David Vidales (Prema) scored the third victory of his career in car, the third at Imola after his successful double here in Italy last year in Formula Renault. The Spanish driver beat Alex Quinn (Arden) and Frenchman Hadrien David (R-ace GP), who scored his second podium in the category.

David Vidales was able to make the difference when the lights went out, helped by the skating of his teammate and front row companion Paul Aron (Prema). The Estonian's difficulties in taking off allowed Quinn and David to infiltrate. Despite the appearance of two safety cars following the exits from the track of Benavides, Marinangeli and Smith, Vidales did not tremble, ensuring his restarts each time.

For his part, Isack Hadjar neither gained nor lost a position, finishing 7th. The Frenchman perfectly resisted an attack from Dino Beganovic (Prema) after putting two wheels in the gravel. He takes the lead in the rookie rankings, precisely ahead of the Swede of the Ferrari Driver Academy. As a reminder, Race 2 will be held on Sunday noon (12:15 p.m.). Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix) will start in pole position ahead of Hadrien David (R-ace GP), Paul Aron (Prema) and the winner of the day David Vidales (Prema).
