Ambitious Walker at Silverstone

James, what is your assessment of this start to the season?

I am very happy with this start, with the way the team is working and with my level of driving. I'm having strong qualifying sessions and we're currently third in the championship. My victory at Spa-Francorchamps is also a highlight, as is my podium in Monaco. We can always do better but I'm just ten points behind the leaders (Martinez and Baguette) so that's good!

Fourth in the first race at the Hungaroring, you retired in the second heat. What happened during this race?

I attacked a little hard. I had a good start and we had the possibility of taking the lead in the championship. I wanted to refuel early enough to then attack as much as possible, as was the case at Spa-Francorchamps. But I arrived too quickly in the pit lane and I crashed. It's a shame but we were lucky with the results of the others who didn't perform as well as they could have.

Is it special to compete in a home race?

It's fantastic. I went to the circuit last weekend to watch the Grand Prix of Formula 1. The atmosphere was great. In addition, I really like this layout; I have already been fast in the past in Formula 3. Last year it didn't go very well in the FR 3.5 Series but I think this time the car will be suitable for the circuit. I will simply try to win both races!
