World Series F. V8 3.5 – Fittipaldi rules the roost in Mexico

After securing his 9th and 10th pole positions in the series in the morning (a record), Pietro Fittipaldi won his fifth victory this season at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Well off to a good start, the Brazilian kept the advantage when the lights went out, taking the reins of a race quickly interrupted by the safety car following the exit of Egor Orudshev (SMP Racing).

Then second and third, Alex Palou and Konstantin Tereschenko, both residents of Teo Martin Motorsport, were unable to resist Isaakyan's attacks. The ranking will no longer change, the three men finishing in this order behind Fittipaldi and ahead of Alfonso Celis Jr who hoped for much more at home. But contact with a competitor on the first lap damaged the front wing of his car of Fortec Motorsports.

Fittipaldi takes advantage of this new success to move into the championship leader's chair with 183 points on the clock, two more than Matevos Isaakyan. The Brazilian hopes to further increase his lead this Sunday during the second race. Once again, he will start from pole position.
