WS F V8 3.5 – Pietro Fittipaldi gets the ball rolling at Silverstone

Starting from pole, Pietro Fittipladi (Lotus) maintained the advantage throughout the 24 laps to win the first round of the World Series Formula V8 3.5 season at Silverstone (Great Britain). The grandson of Emerson built a good lead in the first part of the race against Egor Orudzhev (SMP Racing by AVF), but it was reduced to 7 tenths as he took the checkered flag.

Alfonso Celis Jr (Fortec Motorsports) completed the podium after taking the lead from Matevos Isaakyan (SMP Racing by AVF). René Binder (Lotus) completed the top five ahead of Damiano Fioravanti (Il Barone Rampante), first rookie, and Teo Martin Motorsport residents Nelson Mason and Konstantin Tereschenko. The Canadian took the lead over the Russian after starting from the back of the grid, being unable to take part in qualifying due to an incorrect license issue.

Roy Nissany (RP Motorsport) retired following contact with Konstantin Tereschenko at the start of the race which was placed under investigation by the stewards. Only 11 cars arrived.
