From second place on the grid, it was Jorge Martin who made the best start at the start of this first Argentine GP since 2019. The Ducati rider immediately pushed hard ahead of Aleix Espargaro, who started from pole position, and another Ducati, that of Luca Marini.

fabio quartararo found himself stuck in the peloton and was in ninth position at the first score before falling to 13e position behind Francesco Bagnaia and Johann Zarco, who finally made a mistake at turn 2 20 laps from the checkered flag.

In the lead, Martin tried to escape, but it was without counting on Espargaro who was determined to achieve his very first Grand Prix success. After nine laps, the Madrilenian still retained the advantage with just two tenths ahead of the Aprilia representative. On the next pass Espargaro made a small error at the first corner, slightly losing contact with his compatriot's Ducati GP22.

At just over a second, it was Alex Rins on the handlebars of his Suzuki GSX-RR who took the lead over another Espargaro in the person of Pol. It didn't take long for Rins to get rid of the first Honda rider in the hierarchy to pursue Espargaro, in vain.

But Aleix had not yet said his last word... He redoubled his efforts to reconnect with Martin and put pressure on him with 12 laps remaining. Meanwhile Pol has in turn gone into the gravel trap leaving Rins to go it alone in third position.

It was only eight laps from the finish that Espargaro attempted a first attack on Martin, but the Catalan came out a little too wide allowing his opponent to regain control of hostilities.

Three laps later, he did it again and this time Espargaro managed to keep the advantage to head straight towards his very first success in MotoGP, but also in Grand Prix.

Even if the skirmish between the two leaders benefited him slightly, Rins ultimately had to settle for third place on the podium ahead of his teammate Joan Mir and Francesco Bagnaia.

After difficult qualifying, Bagnaia saved the furniture and took an honorable fifth place ahead of Brad Binder, Maverick Viñales and Fabio Quartararo who ultimately managed to move up to eighth place. Marco Bezzecchi and Enea Bastianini, who lost the lead in the championship, completed the Top 10.
