As the official MotoG Test in Portimão approaches, the Honda LCR lifted the veil on the RC213V that Alex Rins will ride. Rins joins Lucio Checchinello's LCR Honda team for this 2023 season, which has been the Japanese manufacturer's flagship satellite team for many years. This year it will try to regain its former glory after a disappointing 2022 season.

2023 marks the start of a new chapter for former Suzuki rider, Alex Rins. Forced to bounce back following the surprise departure of Suzuki at the end of the 2022 season, the latter found refuge at LCR Honda Castrol. He remains in the process of adapting since leaving Suzuki, a period made difficult by the slight performance deficit that his machine seemed to show compared to the competition at the end of the Sepang tests.

In 19,e position at the end of pre-season testing, more than a second behind the leader, Alex Rins seemed in no hurry to complete the stages. “I'm gradually getting used to this bike. I feel a slight improvement in the connection between the accelerator and the engine, he rejoiced. But we still need to improve the bike. »

Alex Rins: “This is my seventh season in MotoGP and every year I learn something. Over time, I learned a lot about working under pressure, staying calm in the face of stress while being fast on the track. This is especially true in recent years, during which I have clearly progressed in my mentality to be calm and manage different situations. I will start 2023 with rigor and determination, working on my bike to maximize its potential. »
