Bagnaia dominates the Race of Champions

After qualifying in pole position, Francesco Bagnaia made the best start to take the lead on first braking ahead of Luca Marini and his teammate Jack Miller. The official Ducati rider was never worried during the eight laps of the race (compared to 12 initially planned).

At the start of the second loop, Marco Bezzecchi took the lead over Miller before chasing his Marini for the second step of the podium. But the rookie MotoGP, who won his first podium in Assen, had to settle for third place.

Miller finished fourth ahead of Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin. Axel Bassani, who competes in the Superbike world championship, finished seventh ahead of Johann Zarco. Fabio Di Giannantonio, also a rookie in MotoGP and author of the pole at Mugello, finished ninth while WorldSBK debutant Luca Bernardi was tenth ahead of Danilo Petrucci.

In the V2 standings, it was Federico Caricasulo, driver of the Supersport world championship, who won.
