Bagnaia wins for the first time in MotoGP

Patience finally paid off for Francesco Bagnaia. Since last year, victory has often reached out to him, but until today it had always eluded him. It is now done.

After an excellent start, the Italian took the lead at the first braking and then masterfully led the proceedings. Despite Marc Marquez's attacks in the final laps, the Ducati rider held on until the finish to snatch the 250th Italian success in the premier category.

Marquez gave up on the last lap after slightly widening his trajectory at the exit of turn 12. Out of reach of his rival, he finally had to settle for a good second place on a circuit which runs in the counterclockwise direction that he particularly likes.

After defeating Aleix Espargaro and Jack Miller, Joan Mir concluded this 13th event of the calendar in third place, depriving Espargaro of a second podium in a row.

fabio quartararo failed in eighth position, conceding a few points to Bagnaia overall. However, the Frenchman is still 53 lengths ahead of his closest opponent and can return to Misano with peace of mind.

Johann Zarco, for his part, experienced more difficulty since he arrived in 17th place behind Cal Crutchlow.
